Do you want a partner?

One of the questions that arise in your mind after you have chosen your project is whether or not to have a partner. Virtual University allows you to select one other member as your partner. Now the drawback is that if you already do not know a person, who happens to be interested in the same project like yours, then it can be an issue, where will you find a partner? On VULMS, in the course CS619 tab, they give you a chance to view other students who have chosen a project & send a request to them. Here are a few things to consider:
When choosing a partner make sure you know a little bit about that person e.g their CGPA, their work status (full time student or having a job), their knowledge about languages (PHP or .net) & their professional experience.
The distance between you two, your time schedules & your work schedule. This is very important to decide it BEFORE you have even partnered that person. Make sure you agree to the means of communication. Are you in same campus? Can you collaborate in campus everyday or every week? If they are from another city, will you be using Skype, whatsapp, text messages or phone calls for correspondence? Do your time schedules match? Will you be able to be free at the same hours of the day for correspondence? Who will be doing what? Do not hesitate to question & settle  all these issues BEFORE you partner that person. Once you have chosen a partner there is no turning back. So make sure you have agreed to the work plan, i.e who is doing what in terms of project work. Discuss all the details of the project & make sure you both agree to language & tools you want to use.
These are important points before you have chosen your partner. There are plenty of days to make a partner so talk to more than 3-4 people & then decide which one can be your partner.
Success & light…
